Administrators, or admins, are members of the community entrusted with special editing privileges that allow them to aide and guide other members of the community, combat vandalism, and enforce site policy.
All administrators are capable of using the rollback feature. Higher ranking administrators, known as bureaucrats, are capable of bestowing rollback, administrative and bureaucratic powers to members of the community.
The wiki's administrative team is currently composed of 5 members, all of which possess bureaucratic powers.
What is an Administrator?
Different users have access to different functions of the site. While anyone can do most things on the site, including reading and editing, administrators can access a few additional functions:
- Deleting and undeleting pages, page histories, and uploaded files.
- Locking (protecting) a page so it cannot be edited or renamed by users without admin rights.
- Blocking IP addresses or user names from editing; and very quick "rollback" of undesirable edits.
- Editing the interface by changing system messages and skins.
A bureaucrat can make other users into bureaucrats or administrators on their own wiki. He or she is not currently able to remove administrator access from any user; please contact one of the community staff if you need that done.
Some Wikia staff members have full access to all Wikia. They will be shown in this list on any wiki. Wikia janitors have limited administrator access to all Wikia for cleanup purposes. These users will be shown on this list on any Wikia. Please see the Central Wikia contact page for details on how to contact Wikia staff.
Who are this wiki's Bureaucrats and Administrators?
The founder of a wiki, the person who first created it, is given administrator access automatically. Founders are also given bureaucrat access so they can make any other user on their wiki an administrator or bureaucrat. For a complete list of users with administrator access, see the topic below with the names of the Councilors.
How do I use Administrator Powers
For one to learn how to control their new functions, refer to the administrators' how-to guide for a guide on using administrator functions. If a Councilor does not understand the how-to guide in the link then they may either contact another administrator via a secret chatroom on any service or risk contacting them through their talk page.
What can the Administrators not do?
Administrators should not use their administrator powers to settle editing disputes; for example, to lock a page on a version he or she prefers in an editing dispute that is not vandalism. Administrator powers should be use to help keep the wiki clear of vandalism, spam, and users who make malicious edits, but not for simple disagreements between users acting in good faith. Ideally, an admin should not be considered "in charge". The ideal admin is just someone who is trusted to have a few extra buttons and to use them for the benefit of the Wikia community.
Members of the administrative team are also expected to behave their best or else they risk ruining the wiki's image by acting utterly reckless with pointless fighting and behavior. Additionally, Councilors should never commit vandalism or disrupt the wiki they were chosen to protect and maintain. A certain amount of trust and cooperation must exist between each administrator so the wiki can continue to run smoothly although the rogue administrator is still 'off the hook'. If any administrators rebel against their own, they are considered for demotion.
